Breast malformations

A breast malformation is a deviation from the normal breast shape The causes can be either a genetic defect or an acquired malformation of the breasts caused by external factors. Genetic and therefore congenital malformations only become apparent when the female breast develops during puberty, while acquired deformities usually become apparent during the course of a woman's life.

What breast malformations are there?

The list of breast malformations is long and includes breast asymmetry (anisomastia), underdevelopment or even lack of development of the mammary gland (aplasia or hypoplasia), defective development of the nipple (polymastia, athelia, inverted nipples), formation of additional mammary gland tissue (usually in the armpit; accessory mammary gland), tubular breasts (tubular breast), breast deformities (chicken breast, funnel chest), Poland syndrome and amazon syndrome.

Most breast deformities can be easily corrected surgically. In the case of genuine breast deformities, i.e. if there is a medical indication, the health insurance company will cover the costs of the operation on a case-by-case basis after examination by the medical service. I will be happy to help you with the preparation of a medical certificate for your health insurance company!

Breast correction for beautiful, shapely breasts

The tubular breast deformity is a common breast malformation. It is characterised by a growth disorder of the glandular tissue with underdevelopment of the lower breast poles. The mammary gland is underdeveloped or absent, particularly in the lower areas. The areola is often oversized and appears swollen. The breast base is very narrow and the underbust crease is too high; the breast appears tubular or trunk-shaped. In the case of tubular breasts, surgical treatment is the only way to restore a normal breast shape. In most cases, we combine various treatment methods.

The breast correction is performed in Munich at the ATOS Clinic, where I also have my practice.

Breast correction - an option for me?

The feeling of being "different" is particularly difficult for patients to bear during puberty and adolescence. For example, a tubular breast deformity and the often considerable asymmetry between the two breasts can cause a great deal of suffering for the patient concerned. In young patients, surgical breast correction should be considered at an early stage once breast growth is complete, as breast deformity can cause enormous emotional stress.
